I chose my design because I wanted to go with a Chinese theme. At first, I was going to do the traditional Tiger/Dragon yin yang, but the dragon’s design was too complex. So, I saved the tiger’s design from the picture I was referencing from, and found a great fish picture to go with the tiger.
I had a problem with drawing the tiger on the white practice sheet. I kept making huge anatomy mistakes, like the head was too big or small; the arms were in the wrong place, etc. I almost gave up, but I tried one last time, and it worked!
I am very happy with my yin yang. I was so nervous how the tiger was going to turn out, but I knew the fish would be okay. I did not expect the results I have!
I chose this design because I kind of wanted to go with the traditional chinese dragon, but I changed it a little bit. I chose the color because I wanted something that could be seen and plus, they're all my favorite color. I chose to put the fire around it to symbolize that it was a fire dragon.
I had a problem of putting the sketch on the big paper because somethings were off the mark. I also had problems coloring every single scales, because my hand would hurt within 5 minutes. I also couldn't decide the underbelly's color because I wanted something to match it, but not to be so bright.
I'm happy with it because I got it all done. I didn't think I would finish coloring the scales in time. If I had the chance though, I would restart it with a different color choice.
